Dear friend and colleague,

I apologize for the long-winded message, but I need the collective help of all concerned friends and members of the community to give a helping hand to a fellow Iranian, and I have to go to some length to explain the circumstances.

Last April, Mr. Farhad H. (let me keep his identity anonymous) approached the society of Iranian Professionals of Texas (SIP) to help him out of a very complex financial and bureaucratic problem.  He had come to Houston from Sweden with some kind of student loan from the Swedish Government.  The initiation of the loan was contingent upon completing the English language requirements.  However, due to some unfortunate set of events, he had run out of money and was $1200 in debt!

One of the SIP members volunteered to help Farhad establish his student status and has covered all his educational and personal expenses out of his own pocket up to this date.  This fellow SIP member has gone far beyond the call of duty to sponsor Farhad and assist him in every step of the way.  He has now exhausted his means, and I am writing to ask for humanitarian help from anyone who has a sense of responsibility for this young Iranian student in time of hardship.

Thanks to the efforts of our member, Farhad has completed the English requirements and has passed the College Entrance Exams and is now enrolled at San Jacinto College in Pasadena.  There is good chance that the student loan be established for Farhad, but it would only cover a portion of his expenses.  He is now $4200 in debt.

This is not a call for charity.  Farhad is determined to re-pay a good portion of the financial contributions once his loan money becomes available.  I urge you to help generously and share this message with anyone who cares.  Let's give a helping hand to a young Iranian student with a promising chance of success.  Perhaps, he will reciprocate the same humanitarian sentiment to others in similar situations.

Thank you in advance for your generosity.  Please send your contributions to the address below.  Excess funds will be reverted to the SIP Scholarship Fund, and your contributions are tax exempt.

Regards,

M. Delshad
